Located between Harlech and Porthmadog and being ideal for Portmeirion, the Ffestiniog mountain railway and Harlech castle, the Estuary is an ideal place to stay when visiting North Wales, whether you prefer hiking in the mountains of Snowdonia or relaxing on the beaches of Harlech and the surrounding area you are assured of a warm Welsh welcome.

The Village of Talsarnau is situated on the Dwyryd estuary opposite Portmeirion village, with far reaching views, from mount Snowdon itself out along the coast to Harlech, Criccieth and beyond. The whole area is crisscrossed with walking trails ranging from easy strolls to more difficult mountain hikes. Explore woodlands, mountains and coastal areas all within walking distance of Talsarnau. One such area, within easy reach, is 'Gwaith Powdwr' which was once an explosives works. It was donated to the North Wales Wildlife Trust by ICI in 1998. Its varied environment, from woodland, scrub, heathland and open water, supports a diverse wildlife population including the rare nightjar bird, polecats, seven species of bat and the impressive emperor dragonfly. There are fabulous views over the Dwyryd Estuary and many paths offer excellent access throughout the site.

The Estuary can cater for groups and organizations and will tailor a package to fit your particular needs, also we offer midweek and weekend breaks and normally have offers available. The Estuary offers 10 en-suite non smoking rooms which have been recently refurbished to a superior standard, all located on the ground floor. A choice of king, superking and twin bedded rooms also family rooms of either king size with single bed or king size with bunks allows the Estuary to meet the needs of a wide range of guests.

All rooms at The Estuary are located on the ground floor with direct access from the parking area, this newly created room also has wide double doors to allow access for the largest of chairs or walking aids. The bathroom is accessed via a door with 76cm opening and is fitted with a range of grab rails both fixed and hinged. The room has been created as a 'wet' area therefore has no shower tray and is equipped with a wall mounted folding shower seat, thermostatic single lever shower mixer, sink with mono single lever tap and high level WC
